According to an article on EETimes about the XBox360's wireless pad, the cost of components and manufacture is about $11 dollars USD. For you non math heads, this is about 22% of the actual cost to you, the retail gamer.

These guys are the worst of them all. $69.99 canadian plus tax for a game which works out to $80.48 for the game. Trade it it a week later and they give you $24 for it. Than that same day turn it around and sell it as Previously played for $76. FOR A USED GAME. And how many times does it change hands and make that kind of cash?? Don't like the profit they are making on your game? Sell it yourself...Don't like that they only give you a quarter of the game's retail value? Don't sell it. As far as the prices go on the used games, EB, just like every other company, sets their prices by what the market will bear - that is to say, if people won't buy it at 5 or 10 dollars below retail, they will lower it more - SO DON'T BUY THEM IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT. SHEESH. Con artists trick people - EB's not tricking anyone, you're just allowing them to rip you off - its your fault. 8 -

THEONENONLY 02.21.2006 11:21 Remember that they are selling the console at a loss so they have to make their money some how. Just be glad their not selling the system for a 70% mark up. That would be about 900 bucks for an xbox360 if it costs them $525 to manufacture. 11 -
