There is *usually* about a 65-75% mark-up on retail costs. 9 times out of 10 you can simply subtract around 70% of the price and that is how much the company paid to get the product in the first place. Unregistered - Jonga 02.21.2006 08:23 As if we didn't know already that we were getting ripped off. Unregistered - OEM 02.21.2006 08:39 Hey, like it or not, this is how todays world works. Don't believe me .... look down at your $80 jeans that cost about .25 cents to make. Then take a look at your $120 sneakers and remember that they only cost about .85 cents to make. Unregistered - Zeddy 02.21.2006 08:47 You want to talk about rip-of-artists, look who this site is advertising for on the left side. "EB Games". These guys are the worst of them all. $69.99 canadian plus tax for a game which works out to $80.48 for the game. Trade it it a week later and they give you $24 for it. Than that same day turn it around and sell it as Previously played for $76. FOR A USED GAME. And how many times does it change hands and make that kind of cash?? Biggest con-artists of them all = EB Games. Unregistered - Zeddy 02.21.2006 08:49 BTW, the $76 used is with tax included. Unregistered - Fuzz 02.21.2006 10:01 Not trying to pick on Zeddy here, but gimme a break? EB are con artists? How are they con artists if everyone knows the score? Don't like the profit they are making on your game? Sell it yourself...Don't like that they only give you a quarter of the game's retail value? Don't sell it. As far as the prices go on the used games, EB, just like every other company, sets their prices by what the market will bear - that is to say, if people won't buy it at 5 or 10 dollars below retail, they will lower it more - SO DON'T BUY THEM IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT. SHEESH. Con artists trick people - EB's not tricking anyone, you're just allowing them to rip you off - its your fault. JsonHenry 02.21.2006 11:18 Just ignore the canuck - apparently the ideals of a free enterprise seem to escape most minds to the north of us. Anyone that makes money is automatically labeled evil- unless they are the ones making the money. Poor people. Have you taken a look at their tax rates?! It is WAY to high for those guys. THEONENONLY 02.21.2006 11:21 Remember that they are selling the console at a loss so they have to make their money some how. Just be glad their not selling the system for a 70% mark up. That would be about 900 bucks for an xbox360 if it costs them $525 to manufacture. Unregistered - WOO WOO 02.21.2006 11:59 This is by far the best controller ever concieved to mankind! I think the price is fair and don't really care what it costs them to make it! Unregistered - dr greentumb 02.21.2006 14:28 i bet you are one of those ppl that will pay any thing for anything Unregistered - fasfd 02.21.2006 16:47 IF YA WANT TO GET A CONTROLLER FOR $11 GO AHEAD... BUY THE MATERIALS AND MAKE YALL SELF A CONTROLLER..... I MEAN I REALLY DON'T MIND PAYING THAT MUCH... HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK IT COST TO MAKE A GAME??.... PROB NOT THAT MUCH BUT THEY ARE STILL SELLING IT FOR $60...IT'S CALLED BUSINESS PEOPLE Unregistered - momo 02.21.2006 18:41 or like buying a console for $299 when it really cost over $500 to make. Unregistered - 02.22.2006 00:29 And I care because... ??? Oh yeah, I don't. They could manufacture it for pennies for all I care. As long as they produce a good product that lasts longer than the MadCatz crap, I'm happy. Yeah, ignore the Canadian. They are socialists, not economists. Of course, their government is starting to lean to the smarter side so maybe their culture will too. As others said, if you don't like it, don't buy/sell with them. They openly operate under their business plan. They don't con ya. Unregistered - HeMan 02.22.2006 01:15 What?!?! They are marking up their products for retail sale?!?! OMFG, MAKE IT NEWS NOW DAMNET!!!! THIS NEVER HAPPENS WITH ANYTHING ELSE!!!! *Dies From Anurism* ploody 02.22.2006 16:02 Awesome controller, plug it in to your computer, download some roms of some old games, and play classics with the 360 controller, it's worth trying. FamoAmo 02.22.2006 16:30 Has anyone noticed lately some of the articles on this site are bashing the 360! I think there is a Sony fanboy posting artcles..Who cares about the cost of making the controller anyway?? Someone has to put it together that cost's money This guy is on crack! Lets post actual good news instead of this crap that is trying to make us 360 fans mad..Like we didnt get a great deal on the console and all MS has done for the gamers is awsome. 60$ a game dont bother me as ong as its next-gen and not like GUN!
