I think they want to own the 2007 E3 as they did with E3 2005. Not even Crysis on the PC matches that trailer, and that's one of the most graphically realistic games out at the moment. #14 - I wouldn't class Assassin's Creed as a PS3 game. It's not made by Sony or any of it's units. It's made by a third party company. Sony don't even own them. Plus, Assassin's Creed was running on a X360 at E3 anyway, so what everyone was playing WAS the X360 version. There's no denying that we want Assassin's Creed, but other than that MGS4 and FF, Sony can keep all there other games. Either way, Assassin's Creed was always coming to the 360. Ubisoft always publish titles across the board. It's how they make there money. Yes, there a big company, but nowhere near as big as EA or Square or Capcom, so need money to keep up with the others, hense selling on Multiplatforms. Sony has probably paid them a few bucks to keep it exclusive for a few months, and then the 360 will get it. Just another great title to look forward to on the 360, and another few months more I have before I think about a PS3. Looks like MGS4 will be when I get it! 18 -

FreeMonk 05.29.2006 21:51 Well, a lot of the main Sony titles are penciled in for a 1st/2nd quarter release date. That basicly means some around March/April then nothing until just after E3 which will be around June/July. I'm guessing that Ubisoft will announce this title as a 360/PS3 game before long. With all these leaks, and comments, it just seems that they are sooner or later going to have to bite the bullet and finally announce it, so they can get the marketing bandwagon going. As for the timetravelling monk thing? I don't have a clue. It seems like in the trailer, he's being watched on some sort of camera or TV screen because of the interferance with the frequency, so it's possible, but other than the trailer, I've not seen much else. I'm hoping for some in-game shots soon. It still may be a PS3 exclusive at the moment, but if this matches the quality of the Prince of Persia titles that the team produced, I'll be sold on buying a PS3, that's if it's not coming out on the X360. I don't mind waiting a few months if this is the only decent game available. Somehow another Ridge Racer game just doesn't draw me to the console! RIIIIDGEEE RACCCCERRRR! 22 -

As for the whole IGN leak, that's what make's this so called 'Rumor' true, because if it was just a rumor, Ubisoft would of just issued a statement saying "they are talking crap, it was running on PS3 hardware", but instead they told IGN to pull it. Something that is a rarity. Sony had to know about this, hense why they tried to hid it, and why it was only available to be played behind closed doors, but with all the press around, and the size of the show, it's Ubisofts fault for not hiding it better. Surely they could of locked the 360 in a steel cage where it couldn't be seen. UNLESS.....Ubisoft wanted everyone to know that it's a possibility on the 360, so they can keep there options open. Let's get things straight...Unregistered - Fuzz 05.30.2006 11:31 First of all, this game is not nor has it ever been "exclusive" to Sony's console - Ubisoft has never used the term "exclusive" in any of its marketing - and, IN FACT, this game was announced as coming to the 360 at LAST YEAR'S Tokyo Game Show (or was it X05 in Amsterdam?). Also, when it does arrive, the 360 version will likely not be a "port" as Ubi technically has been working on the 360 version longer (even if its project priority has been downgraded below that of the PS3 version). The only reason this game was only mentioned in reference to the PS3 at E3 was a legal one. Sony has negotiated a contract with Ubi for the development of this game (just like MS has) - that contract likely offers Ubi lower licensing fees (which results in higher per unit revenues) to make the game temporarily exclusive on the PS3 (although, to be honest, nothing proves that the game won't still be released on both systems simultaneously). If MS and Ubi are still negotiating the terms of their contract, that would explain why there was no mention of it for 360 at E3 - you do not publicly discuss such things during contract negotiations. either way, we'll know soon enough... 48 -

That just wouldn't make good business sense. At this stage, the door is open for any company to take over as top console maker. Therefore, game companies are going to straddle the fence for awhile. The 360, with its better price point, great quality, easy developing tools, one year head start, more established online service, and MS's money, is in a great position this time around and game developers know this. It also states that MS has great costumer service and that there is no proof that MS's claim of 3-5% is off. It states that retailers are reporting fewer returns with a larger amount of 360s sold. It also states that MS is more open than Nintendo or Sony when it comes to communicating with the public. In addition, Sony had worse problems with the PS2 and that Sony had to get sued before they would treat their consumers right. deepio 05.30.2006 12:29 I've had to send my original 360 back to Microsoft in the UK, due to freezing errors everytime I booted up a game (infact it wouldn't even bring up the 360 logo sometimes). But I was quite pleased with the speed and efficiency with Microsofts service (had it back within a week). From the sounds of it, Sony wouldn't have been quite as much fun to deal with. 54 -

Assassin Creed wasn't running on the ps3 that's for sure. It was running on the xbox 360 or the PC. The gamers their saw it running on the xbox 360 and it was also the only console that was using a different remote. Also the tech demo that was shown to the press in the VIP booth was shown using the xbox 360 controller. If you can put 2 and 2 together you will notice that the only reasonable explanation is the game is also being released on the xbox 360. Since the xbox 360 is easier to program for it was farther along in development that the ps3 version which is why the x360 version was shown at E3. Ubisoft have alot of games for the xbox 360 like GRAW, Rainbow six, Far cry, splinter cell DA, enchanted arms, blazing angels, over g and king kong so they should be pretty familiar with the xbox 360 archeitect so there is no reason not to create assassin creed on the xbox 360. Also the game will sell more on the xbox 360 since it would have a way bigger install base at the time of assassin creed releases. 66 -

I was just on the Ubisoft forums, the game IS NOT a PS3 exclusive ,this was confirmed by an Ubisoft rep. on the forum. What it is though , is unconfirmed for 360. What does that mean? Are they in contract negotiations ? Is it a delayed exclusive ? How did Microsoft let it get to this point? Why do they always let it get to this point? If the PS3 gets a timed exclusive it has to consist of business meetings , faxes , e-mails , lawyers and schmoozing on Sonys part , why couldn't Microsoft either do the same or at least be aware of what was going on. In my opinion it is unaccepptable. If you are the industry leader for this generation of systems ACT LIKE IT! Ubisoft owes us an explanation for buying literally millions of there games as consumers.
