E3 2006: Gears of War Multiplayer Hands-On
Submitted By: News Bot
10 May 2006 17:39 | Xbox 360
Epic ran a four-on-four team deathmatch session behind closed doors at the Microsoft booth at E3 this morning. -- "There were obviously a ton of great games to see -- Mass Effect, Too Human, the Halo 3 trailer again. But after finishing about a half hour of intense multiplayer action, there was one game I knew I had to see again: Gears of War. I don't care if I have to hold Cliffy B. hostage or spray hot booth-babes with a fire-hose as a diversion, but I will play Gears again before the end of this E3 -- it was that fun." --

E3 2006: Tony Hawk's Project 8 First Details
Submitted By: News Bot
10 May 2006 17:34 | Xbox 360 | Playstation 3
The best way to put it is that Project 8 is more like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 -- specifically built for this next-generation of systems, as opposed to last year's effort, which looked and felt like a current-gen game ported to the Xbox 360 and up-resed. Neversoft is especially working on creating a more accessible game. It's fine tuning the D-pad and, more importantly, the analog sticks, which the newer generation of gamers use more often than the trusty D-pad. Naturally, you'll also be able to customize your skater, though Neversoft didn't explain exactly how in this new version.

E3 2006: Eyes-on The Club
Submitted By: Janx
10 May 2006 17:06 | Xbox 360 | Playstation 3
IGN's Jeremy Dunhamhad the opportunity to duck behind SEGA's closed doors to watch the gameplay demo conducted by the production team itself (the press isn't allowed to play it yet) and got to view a special concept level designed specifically for demonstration purposes. The perspective looks almost identical to that of the aforementioned Resident Evil 4 (or Cold Fear if you want to go all obscure), but the overall gameplay and animation speeds are noticeably faster.

E3 06: Blue Dragon Impressions
Submitted By: Lost Alley
10 May 2006 13:45 | Xbox 360
Microsoft showed off a very short trailer from Blue Dragon during its E3 press conference. Although the trailer was only a few moments long, it is the first public demonstration of the game in action. The trailer revolves around a young character that's unnamed in the trailer, but whom we know as Shu from our previous coverage of the game. In the trailer, he's flying a small personal aircraft of a retroish, '50s-esque design through dark clouds. Shu's design, as you might expect since Akira Toriyama is the character designer, is reminiscent of Goku from Dragonball Z, albeit in a much smaller package.
