VU Games was kind enough to let IGN in for a look at F.E.A.R. on the Xbox 360, the freaky first person shooter previously exclusive to the PC realm. For those unfamiliar, F.E.A.R. lets you wield shotguns, rifles, rocket launchers and more exotic weaponry against armies of psychically controlled drones. Featuring smart, staunch squad-based enemy A.I.. F.E.A.R. offers up one of the most uncompromised shooter experiences on the market.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent has a lot of demo booths available at the showroom MS organized after the press conference. So it was natural that I recorded a few videos of the E3 demo. This demo has 2 playable levels: the polar zone and the oriental one. It's this one I've decided to share with you during these 7 minutes of gameplay. Contrary to the rather bad looking gameplay shown during the conference, the game looks very good graphically. It's not quite easily spotable in this vidéo because of the HDR, but when seeing it directly from the screen it's very convincing.

Gates claims ten million head start

Microsoft chief Bill Gates has claimed that Xbox 360 will enjoy a ten million unit head start over its next-gen rivals. It was recently confirmed that Microsoft has now shipped 3.3 million Xbox 360’s worldwide since the console’s launch in December, and in the next seven months it hopes to triple its installed user base. With hardware supplies now approaching free availability following prolonged shortages since launch, the firm believes it can accelerate sales from now until the November release of PS3.

Atari sells rights to two video games

Video game maker Atari Inc. (ATAR.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday it raised $13 million through the sale of the intellectual property rights to two games, TimeShift and Stuntman. Atari said the sale is in line with its plan to divest assets which it feels are not core to its business.

It just did... turns out what was shown in that trailer wasn't just a simple trailer its the actual halo 3 engine being ran in realtime on the 360. Its what the actual game will look like Master Chief was ACTUALLY controllable guys! Here are some snippets "The Bungie representatives made it clear to us that the trailer was running in real-time on the Xbox 360." "The demo shifted away from the crater to the part of the level you see the Master Chief walking in from. He was controllable, which means that the trailer indicates just how good the game will look." "The crater seen in the trailer is three miles across, and it's all rendered in real geometry. It was full of new game revelations as usual, but one of the most surprising new announces was Hellboy -- a licensed actioner based on the popular Dark Horse Comics series and movie franchise.
